As the seasons shift and change, our bodies often undergo subtle transformations to adapt to the new energies around us.
This blog post will explore ways to nurture our bodies during seasonal transitions and embrace holistic wellness.
Supporting Your Physical Form Through Change:
Our bodies serve as grounding transmitters for these vibrational shifts.
Here are some helpful tips to support your body through these changes:
- Grandma's glass of lemon water on waking to assist in toxin removal.
- Foot baths for relaxation and detoxification.
- Gargling tinctures for throat health.
- Spending time outdoors, connecting with nature.
- Energize your kidneys by placing the palms of your hands on your back over your lower ribs.
Lemon Foot Bath
Find 1 vessel large enough that when both feet are in the water, the water will cover your calf muscles.
Use water as hot as you can handle safely, and be mindful of comfortable temperatures for your children.
Scour the skin of one lemon under the water's surface so that all the essential oils are held within the water. Then, cut it in half and squeeze out all the juice, leaving lemon remnants in the water.
Add sprigs of fresh thyme for a chesty cough and a handful of Epsom salts (magnesium salts) for healing.
Cover your legs well with a towel so all the heat stays on your lower legs.
As the water cools off, replace it with hot water. If it's safe, I normally keep the kettle nearby to top up with hot water.
If it's comfortable, soak in water for 15 minutes or more. Note: Discard water as the jug fills; do not try to lift the full bucket outside in one go!
This method of soaking your lower legs encourages blood circulation and lymphatic flow. Allowing stimulation of lymphatic drainage to work its magic.
The calf is the largest muscle south of the heart.
Clear distractions away - phones on silent.
Dry your legs and feet when you feel you have sufficient soaking.
Lymphatics
The lymphatic ducts drain from between the clavicle and first rib, so first massage, gently stimulating the area around your collarbone for 30 seconds or so while your feet are soaking.
This will loosen up the tissues and lymphatic ducts, allowing them to release the toxins from your body.
The calf is the largest muscle south of the heart, so they are important in blood circulation.
Fevers will only leave the body when hands and feet are warm.
Massage
For your feet and legs, use upward movements. I use ancient minerals magnesium lotion or 1-2 drops of essential oil mixed in an egg cup of carrier oil, olive, or almond oil.
You could try any of these: eucalyptus, lavender, mandarin, lemon, or rosemary (in the morning only).
Hot Lemon Water In The Morning
Oversleep, our body’s innate healing mechanisms have been busy aligning and balancing our structure.
Your lymphatic system has also been busy removing toxins from your tissues. Your first urination of the day releases these toxins from your body.
On first wake in the morning, to help your kidneys, drink 1/2 a glass of water with 1/2 a lemon or 1 lemon, depending on how juicy it is.
Precautions:
The acid may cause an upset tummy.
Rinse your mouth with fresh water after drinking.
Do not brush your teeth directly after.
Ongoing consumption of lemon water can cause tooth enamel to erode.
I generally only drink lemon water in the morning 1-3 days before illness as a precaution when I think I may be getting sick or post-illness to aid my recovery.
When I am in mid-illness, I stop and let my body do what it needs to do to heal without adding any extra stimulation.
A lovely cup of hot water with freshly squeezed lemon juice, honey, and thyme sprigs to sip as you soak your feet, sun on your back, resting your eyes and mind! xxx

Hypercal Tincture for Natural Healing:
Hypercal tincture/lotion, a blend of Hypericum and Calendula, is nature's antiseptic and healer.
This tincture can be used as a throat gargle to address early signs of illness, such as a tickle in the throat. Follow these steps for effective use:
- Mix 10 drops of Hypercal with 50 ml of warm water and gargle regularly to soothe throat irritation.
- Do not swallow the tincture, as it is only for topical use.
- Hypercal can also be applied to cuts, abrasions, and mouth infections for natural cleansing.
By listening to our body's signals and responding promptly, we can support our overall well-being and promote healing naturally.
Gargle regularly throughout the day, and on following days, especially if you have developed a tickly cough, you will feel the numbing effect after you spit out the water Hypercal mix.
Attending to your body’s responses as soon as possible can stop whatever is developing in your mouth.
Your glands swell up as they fight off illness from transitioning further into your chest and heart.
